Our Purpose:
As a community of women, created
in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered
by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our
gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action,
and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the
world.
Our Commitment: To
accomplish the purpose of Women of the ELCA, we will:

Come together for Christian fellowship and
spiritual growth. As a community of women, created in the image of

support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action,
and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and
the world
Our Commitment: To accomplish the purpose of Women of the
ELCA, we will:

Come together for Christian fellowship and
spiritual growth

Participate in the ministry of Women of the ELCA

Support financially the total program of Women of the ELCA
-
Designate leadership that will be in communication with the
synodical and churchwide women's organization

We invite and encourage all
women in the congregation to become involved in the fun, fellowship
and service of the CLCW.
Fellowship activities include:
- Fall kickoff luncheon and membership meeting
Thanksgiving dinner
and silent auction (proceeds go to designated cause)
Christmas cookie
exchange party (with tins filled and delivered to members of the
congregation)
Valentine tea and
membership meeting
Spring retreat at
Rauwood
WELCA convention
Middle Tennessee
cluster meeting
Congregational ice
cream social
Prayer partners
Service projects and fund raisers include:
- Babysitting during High Holy Days for a local synagogue
- Collection of soap, school kits, and infant layettes for
Lutheran World Relief
- Quilts for those in need
- Product survey
- Women's shelter
