The

School on September 10, 1961 with 55 present. October 29,
1961, Reformation Sunday, the first service was held in the
new church building with 60 present. December 3, 1961, saw
the dedication of the church building and the Rev. August
Wenzel was installed as the first pastor. He, along with
the original charter members, watched Christ Lutheran grow
in number and ministry to the point an education wing was
added in 1965. Pastor Wenzel served Christ Lutheran until
August 1968. In October 1968, Pastor Vernon Bigalk became
the pastor and faithfully served until August 1976. In
October 1976, Pastor Michael Althauser became the third
pastor of Christ Lutheran, serving until October 1992.
Pastor Althauser was involved with the new construction at
299 Haywood Lane during 1990 and the merger to the ELCA in
1991. When Pastor Althauser left, we were blessed with the
Rev. Ferdinand Meyer, who served on an interim basis until
January 1994. Pastor Larry Richardson joined the family of
Christ Lutheran Church in January 1994 serving to the
present.
